Finish Strong's PK REACH program is designed around five evidence-based resilience-building practices that support the holistic development of all youth, and specifically those affected by trauma: exposing participants to healthy relationships with peers and adults, promoting self-esteem and self-efficacy, creating safe spaces that reduce risk of harm, offering exposure to new learning opportunities, and presenting opportunities for problem-solving and critical thinking. 147 unique youth who reside in the City of Poughkeepsie, NY, Dutchess County, were served in 2022. Demographics consist of: 55% Black, 40% Latino, 5% two or more races; 60% ages 6 to 13 years old; 40% ages 14 - 18 years old; 96% of the families served lived at or below the poverty line. All services provided to youth and families are free.
