Mission

THE HARTFORD FOUNDATION FOR PUBLIC GIVING PUTS PHILANTHROPY INTO ACTION TO CREATE LASTING SOLUTIONS THAT RESULT IN VIBRANT COMMUNITIES WITHIN THE GREATER HARTFORD REGION. AS THE REGION'S COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, IT IS A PUBLIC, GRANTMAKING ORGANIZATION BRINGING TOGETHER DEDICATED INDIVIDUALS, BUSINESSES AND NONPROFITS TO UNDERSTAND LOCAL CHALLENGES, SHARE INFORMATION AND PUT RESOURCES BEHIND SOLUTIONS THAT CAN BUILD A MORE EQUITABLE AND RESILIENT PLACE TO LIVE, WORK AND RAISE A FAMILY. WE ARE COMMITTED TO DISMANTLING STRUCTURAL RACISM, AND ACHIEVING EQUITY IN SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC MOBILITY IN OUR REGION, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS. THAT COMMITMENT SITS AT THE CENTER OF THE FOUNDATION'S WORK AND IS REFLECTED IN THE ORGANIZATION'S PRIORITIES, PLANS AND ALLOCATION OF RESOURCES.
