Mission

UJA-FEDERATION OF NEW YORK (UJA) CARES FOR JEWS EVERYWHERE AND NEW YORKERS OF ALL BACKGROUNDS, RESPONDS TO CRISES CLOSE TO HOME AND FAR AWAY, AND SHAPES THE JEWISH FUTURE. THROUGH STRATEGIC GRANTMAKING, UJA PROVIDES FUNDING AND RESOURCES TO OVER 400 (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)ORGANIZATIONS, INCLUDING 65 CORE HEALTH, HUMAN-SERVICE, EDUCATIONAL, AND COMMUNITY-BUILDING INSTITUTIONS. UJA SEEDS GRASSROOTS ORGANIZATIONS, SUSTAINS ESSENTIAL COMMUNAL INSTITUTIONS, AND LEVERAGES RELATIONSHIPS TO ADDRESS ONGOING CHALLENGES AND EMERGING ISSUES AFFECTING THE JEWISH AND BROADER COMMUNITY. ITS GOVERNMENT ADVOCACY SECURES TENS OF MILLIONS ANNUALLY FOR SERVICES TO NEW YORKERS IN NEED. UJA HAS CONSISTENTLY MOBILIZED ITS NETWORK AND RESOURCES TO ADDRESS PRESSING NEEDS, AIDING VULNERABLE NEW YORKERS AND SUPPORTING JEWISH INSTITUTIONS. FOLLOWING THE HORRIFIC EVENTS OF OCTOBER 7 IN ISRAEL, UJA IS ALSO ACTIVELY ENGAGED IN HELPING THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL HEAL AND REBUILD.
